Hilton Chambers is a backpackers' hostel occupying a three storey Victorian building located in the lively Northern Quarter of the city, 500 metres from Canal Street. The 32 rooms and dorms are decorated in browns and creams with wooden floors. All include complimentary Internet connections and shared or private bathrooms with showers and hair dryers.
Guests have access to well equipped kitchen/canteen able to seat 40 people, where they can store, prepare and eat their own food. The hostel also features a television lounge, and guests can stay in touch with friends and family via high speed Internet access. During summer, occasional barbecues are held on the terrace, and visitors can get to know the area via hostel run pub crawls. Staff at the front desk can offer sightseeing information and look after valuables in the safe deposit box. Guests can enjoy the lively bars and restaurants of Canal Street 500 metres away, visit the Museum of Science and Industry one mile away, or the Imperial War Museum North, which is three miles from the hotel. Manchester Airport is five miles away, with an approximate driving time of 15 minutes.

Frequent train services run between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station (500 metres from the hotel) in the city centre. Taxis are available outside the Arrivals hall of each terminal. The airport's bus network provides direct services to many local centres, as well as links to other towns and cities. All buses call at the airport bus station located outside Terminal 1 International Arrivals. Parts of Manchester city centre are pedestrianised and there is a good bus and tram network covering the city. Taxis can be hailed in the street.
